Smoothies are better than we thought!!

Recent research has shown that smoothies are worth two portions of our daily ‘5’ and not just one as we were previously led to believe.

Those of us in the know have always appreciated the nutritional value of smooties. Not only do they taste good but they are a great energiser for both the body and mind.

Full of complex carbohydrate, vitamins, minerals and those all important phytonutrients (plant based nutrients) they are the easily digestible fast track to health and wellbeing.

They are known to boost immunity from gaurding against the common cold to helping fight against cancer and heart disease.

Try this simple energy booster:
2 bananas
2 handfulls raspberries
quarter of a pint of cranberry juice

Food

You are what you eat.

This is particularly true of active people and athletes. To exercise for any length of time your body needs to draw on stored energy. This is a very complex process so to keep it simple, let us accept that the body gets its long-term energy from Complex Carbohydrate.

If you are really interested in maximising your performance then optimising your energy levels is essential.

Contact me to find out more about my dietary analysis programme. After analysing your 5 day food diary I’ll make a number of recomendations that will help you boost your performance, enhance your immunity and possibly loose a few unwanted pounds in the bargain.

Drink

Sorry, we’re talking about WATER.

Most people don’t drink enough water and spend the best part of their lives in a state of dehydration. Normally, this does not really matter, but to an athlete/ runner it is very important. Even a small loss of body fluid will seriously reduce your performance and could actually damage your body.
